Community celebrates The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee together

Along with the rest of the nation, Home Community Café celebrated The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee over the special bank holiday weekend.
With the weather on our side, Home Café hosted a Right Royal Garden Party in the grounds of the Emmanuel Church on Thursday 2 June and invited the community to celebrate with us.
The gardens looked glorious decorated with bunting and the tables all looked gorgeous with beautiful flowers and white table clothes fitting for such a special occasion.
The community came together for the afternoon and were entertained by two local choirs and a quartet while enjoying a delicious afternoon tea and drinks on the lawn.
In between the entertainment and after tea, guests could also shop at one of several local stalls.
Profits from this special event will enable Home Community Café to continue to offer upskilling volunteer places throughout 2022. These places are offered to young people, those looking to build their confidence, acquire news skills or improve their English and those who require more support for learning.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, café team and supporters for making this great day happen and to all our guests who spent the afternoon with us.
