Miriam Jones
Trustee - Chair
Miriam joined the Home Trustee Board in March 2016. She is also a Director on the St James & Emmanuel multi-academy trust board and fits in some HR consultancy around the edges! In her spare time Miriam enjoys walking, singing in the St James Consort, theatre and spending time with her family and friends.
Hilary Lowe
Trustee
Hilary is a chartered accountant specialising in the medical profession with a heart for the community. She has served as treasurer of St James & Emmanuel Parish for over 20 years and joined the Home Trustee Board in Feb 2017 to bring financial management expertise as well as a helping hand. Hilary enjoys baking, gardening, walking, keeping fit generally and likes a challenge.
Michael Pollard
Cafe Manager
Since joining as Cafe Manager in 2017 Michael has not only brought with him a bubbly personality but years of cafe and restaurant experience. He makes all the delicious homely food on our premises and puts love into every single dish! Michael makes all the customers and volunteers feel welcome, he is what makes Home such as special place for everyone.
Jason Leach
Trustee
Jason has lived in South Manchester since 2002 and a Didsbury resident since 2009. He joined the Trustees in 2020. He works in financial services and is also a social business mentor and a wellbeing champion. In his spare time he enjoys going to the gym, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family. Jason also supports Sale Sharks rugby club.
Phil Birchenall
Trustee
Phil, a Didsbury resident for over 25 years, joined Home in May 2023. With a background in creative, digital, and media industries, he brings a strategic approach to developing commercial partnerships and exploring funding opportunities for the Cafe. Phil's passion for the community and desire to support local initiatives are key drivers in his role. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, music and spending time with his daughter.
Maggie Jackson

As well as a Trustee, Maggie is also Home Community Cafe's Safeguarding Officer
Debbie Jones
Trustee
Debbie moved to Didsbury in 2024. She spent 15 years as a trustee of a national charity based in Altrincham. Debbie is a freelance journalist and copywriter, specialising in travel, which she has been writing about since 2008. Prior to this Debbie ran three catering businesses.
In her spare time, she enjoys visiting an art gallery, trying to learn Spanish, cooking, walking, and attacking her reading pile.
Lexi Sears
Trustee
Lexi is a Civil Servant working in commercial management for the Energy department. She also set up the Didsbury Death Cafe which she runs at Home cafe every month.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her young family, long walks in the countryside and travelling in her campervan.
