Trustee - Chair
Miriam joined the Home Trustee Board in March 2016. She is also a Director on the St James & Emmanuel multi-academy trust board and fits in some HR consultancy around the edges! In her spare time Miriam enjoys walking, singing in the St James Consort, theatre and spending time with her family and friends.
Hilary is a chartered accountant specialising in the medical profession with a heart for the community. She has served as treasurer of St James & Emmanuel Parish for over 20 years and joined the Home Trustee Board in Feb 2017 to bring financial management expertise as well as a helping hand. Hilary enjoys baking, gardening, walking, keeping fit generally and likes a challenge.
Jason has been a Didsbury resident since 2009 and joined the Trustees in 2020. He works in financial services and is also a social business mentor and a wellbeing champion. In his spare time he enjoys going to the gym, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family. Jason also supports Sale Sharks rugby club.
Cate Allison is a Curate at St James and Emmanuel Church. Before ordination she gained 25 years of experience as a manager, mostly in the voluntary sector. Her last job was as Chief Executive of Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH) a charity supporting female sex workers. Cate joined the Home Trustee Board because she feels it is a wonderful way of reducing social isolation and building community. She hopes that her third sector experience will be useful. In her spare time Cate enjoys reading, gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.
Since joining as Cafe Manager in 2017 Michael has not only brought with him a bubbly personality but years of cafe and restaurant experience. He makes all the delicious homely food on our premises and puts love into every single dish! Michael makes all the customers and volunteers feel welcome, he is what makes Home such as special place for everyone.
Bernadette has lived around South Manchester for 18 years after she came to university in Manchester, settling in Didsbury in 2012. Having admired the ethos and drive of the Home team for years Bernadette joined the trustee team in 2022 hoping to help with the post pandemic recovery at Home and wider community support. When she’s not working at Wythenshawe hospital Bernadette enjoys growing veg with her children, traveling and trying to keep fit.
